Lex Luther to play Freddy Kruger?

According to sources at movies.com ,  Michael Bay (Transformers, Pearl Harbor, Armageddon, The Island) is directing the “remake”, you heard me, remake of “A Nightmare on Elm Street”.
Robert Englund, the man who made Freddy Kruger an 80s icon, won’t be donning the striped sweater, fedora, razor glove or burned skin this time. Instead, Lex Luther (Smallville’s [...]

No Country For Old Men was edited with Final Cut Pro

No Country For Old Men, the latest classic by the Coen Brothers, took top honors at this year’s Academy Awards: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Adapted Screenplay and Best Supporting Actor.
What amazes me the most, is their NLE (Non Linear Editing) system.
This film was editing with Apple’s Final Cut Pro
Anyone in the TV/Film industry knows [...]

Prince Harry pulled from Afghan deployment

Prince Harry, third in line to Britain’s Royal Throne, was serving on the “front-line” with his deployment team in Afghan.
After news leaked about the prince’s involvement in Afghanistan the  British defense ministry pulled the young prince from his deployemnt for fear that Al Qaida would target him directly.

Kevin Smith cashes in on recent Parody Viral Videos

So, in keeping with the style of its two predecessors, Kevin Smith’s upcoming film, “ Zack and Miri make a Porno”,   uses the already overplayed Sarah Silverman/Matt Damon and Jimmy Kimmel/Ben Affleck spoof songs and makes one of his own, with Elizabeth Banks and Seth Rogen. That’s right, I said Seth Rogen
Its funny because [...]

Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden?

Morgan Spurlock, writer and director of “Super Size Me”, is back again with his new documentary, “Where in the World is Osama Bin Laden?”

This is a ”must-see” documentary for 2008.  From what I observed in the trailer, the films equal parts humor and seriousness surrounding a very important topic: Terrorism and its key leader, Osama Bin Laden. [...]

William F. Buckley…

William F. Buckely, “the erudite Ivy Leaguer and conservative herald who showered huge and scornful words on liberalism as he observed, abetted and cheered on the right’s post-World War II rise from the fringes to the White House, died Wednesday. He was 82.”(foxnews)
Growing up in a conservative home, I heard his name many times. Oddly [...]

Taxi to the Darkside

This docmentary provides ”An in-depth look at the torture practices of the United States in Afghanistan, Iraq and Guantanamo Bay, focusing on an innocent taxi driver in Afghanistan who was tortured and killed in 2002″ (http://imdb.com/title/tt0854678/).
In a world post 9/11, anti-Bush films are all the rage. Three of the four Academy Aware Nominees were anti-war films. The [...]

Javier Bardem wins Oscar

If you haven’t seen it yet, you should treat yourself and go see “No Country for Old Men”. If you do, you’ll see one of the most sinister villians since Sir Anthoy Hopkins embodied the raw power of the diabolical Dr. Hannibal Lecter.
Javier Bardem plays Anton Chigurh, a merciless killer on the trail of stolen [...]

Youtube…the problem with it and why

As long as I can remember, YouTube has dominated the video hosting mecca on the net. Why? One word - Free. That’s right, anyone anywhere can upload a video to their account and have it accessible to millions of people with minutes. But what do you sacrifice for the free hosting? Quality.  Because YouTube transcodes [...]

Director Michael Bay makes fun of himself

I’m not a big fan of Michael Bay’s work but I was impressed on his Verizon Fios commerical, where he “spoofs” his image on always needing explosions to make an impact in films that gapping holes in the storylines.
