Poultrygeist: Night of the Chicken Dead

I consider myself to be a cineaste and I often check out the latest and greatest (though sometimes the greatest really suck!) film buzz on various movie sites. One site I view, almost everyday, is Movies
So having prefaced the site (yeah free plug for them - now where’s my money, haha?), I came across a [...]

The Wizard of Gore…

For those of you who saw “Juno” this year, there’s a scene with Ellen Page and Jason Bateman where they discuss films, especially gore-fest films. Jason’s character mentions a little film made in the 1970s called… The Wizard of Gore.
As an avid Netflix’er, I added that film (yes they do have it!) to my queue [...]

Guitar Hero…

After seeing a re-run episode of South Park entitled Guitar Queer-O, I decided to see what all the fuss is about this particular video game. I’m a mild gamer - I’ve had all the Nintendo’s growing up but switched when the PS1 came out. I then bought the PS2 and rocked that solely till this past [...]

Arthur C. Clarke died

The man behind 2001: A Space Odyssey (OK, it was Kubrick behind the film - but Clarke co-wrote it with him) died. He was 90.
Clarke is known throughout the world as one of the greatest science fiction writers. He’s written more then 100 books on the subject. He’s even attributed with the creation of communication [...]

Guy Ritchie and Madge call it quits

According to Showbizspy.com, Guy and Madge are calling it quits after 10 years of marriage.
Who cares, right? Right! Who Cares! Both haven’t done much for their careers since their marriage.
Madge has toured and I think even “dropped an album”, but where has Guy been since Snatch?
Ritchie’s lastet film, Revolver, came out this past year but it [...]

The Incredible Hulk or Incredible Whimp?

The Incredible Hulk TV show was a tad before my time, but I watched every, single episode when it went into syndication. I read the comics, the animated shows and, like most people, was highly excited when Ang Lee’s “The Hulk” was coming out back in 2003. The film was a dud!
It was laced [...]

In Maury we trust…

So, there’s this Maury Povich video making the rounds. Its a paternity test set to the tune of an E.P.T. pregnancy test commercial but with the traditional, “bitch, I told that I ain’t the baby daddy” feel to it.

Its a funny clip, but there’s so much subtext in there I think most don’t get past the “comical” [...]

Star Wars Mosaic of The Last Supper

I stumbled across a link that led me to a site where a digital artist used 69, 550 full frame (full resolution pixels)  on a Davinci system to create a recreation of “The Last Supper”. Oh, did I mention that all the frames are from the 6 Star Wars films?
This is a mix of crazy [...]

Pixar’s latest gem…Wall-E

Pixar, the uber powerful animation studio, is releasing their final brainchild this summer, Wall*E.  When I say brainchild, I simply mean the last in a series of films that a group at Pixar wanted to make when they were forming a list of films to create. The list consists of: Toy Story, A Bug’s Life, [...]

Paraplegics parody is good medicine?

I came across a music video parody for Lene Alexandra, a Norwegian model who became mildly popular with her, “My Boobs Are Ok” music video a year or so ago.
Below is her music video.

So this morning when I came across a parody of that video with three paraplegics, in their motorized wheelchairs, “dancing” around to their version of [...]
